Do Khyentse Yeshe Dorje (1800–1866) was born in the Golok region of Amdo after a mythic and divine conception. He spent many years of his youth with the Drigung sect and his root guru, the First Dodrubchen, Jigme Trinle Özer. He was later recognized as an emanation of Jigme Lingpa (1729–1798) and is remembered as a wild yogi and treasure revealer, leading a life filled with magical narratives.
